"postcard" Made From An 1880s Photo

    I've never seen anything like this before.

    Today, while removing photos from an old British photo album, I came across a small 4" x 2 1/2" photo that had been sent through the mail like a postcard with a cancelled 1881 British stamp.

    That's definitely a rarity and worth something. It's not unique -- cards like this were sometimes successfully sent through the mail even before it was strictly permissible to do so. However, even though it isn't an incredibly early example, it's still something that a serious collector of English postal history, or of British postcards, would want an example of in his or her collection.
